Hải cho rằng, cần tránh rơi vào bẫy của các chỉ số kinh doanh, đó là chạy theo tăng trưởng từ việc chi tiền để thu hút người dùng, thay vì tập trung phát triển giá trị cốt lõi của sản phẩm để có lượng khách hàng thực chất. Hải đã rút ra bài học này sau quá trình vận hành các start-up trước đây và tránh lặp lại với dự án hiện tại là FLYER và Genesi Creative – công ty chuyên sản xuất phim điện ảnh. “Thay vì chạy quảng cáo thu hút người dùng, chúng tôi tập trung đón nhận góp ý của họ để cải tiến sản phẩm. 100% khách hàng tìm đến FLYER đều từ việc họ tự tìm kiếm và được giới thiệu (referral) từ những người từng sử dụng”, Hải cho biết.
Để kiểm chứng mức độ phù hợp với thị trường của sản phẩm, theo bà Hoàng Thị Kim Dung, chuyên viên tư vấn đầu tư tại Genesia Ventures, start-up có thể đánh giá qua các dữ liệu về việc khách hàng sử dụng sản phẩm/dịch vụ một cách tự nhiên, thay vì qua các kênh quảng cáo. Người dùng quan tâm đăng ký sử dụng, sẵn sàng trả tiền cho dịch vụ, sản phẩm cao, nghĩa là có tỷ lệ lớn khách hàng chấp nhận trả tiền sau quá trình sử dụng miễn phí…
