Cullinan Studio đã hoàn thành một ngôi nhà gỗ ghép có diện tích 503,0 m2 tại Amersham, Buckinghamshire, Vương Quốc Anh.
Ngôi nhà này nằm tại khu vực cư dân từ những năm 1930, nơi được biết đến với phong trào Kiến trúc và Thủ công mỹ nghệ.
Căn nhà này phá vỡ phần mái nghiêng truyền thống bằng việc chia tách nó ra thành những phần riêng biệt, tạo điều kiện cho ánh sáng tự nhiên tràn ngập khắp ngôi nhà.
Các kiến trúc sư đã mở rộng ngôi nhà theo hướng thân thiện và gẫn gũi với thiên nhiên…
…đồng thời phù hợp với lối sống của gia đình.
Phần mặt tiền của ngôi nhà bao phủ bởi gạch trần, không trát, sơn bỏng bấy như thường thấy. Tông màu chủ đạo bên trong là màu trắng khiến không gian trông sáng và sang hơn.
Phần chính của ngôi nhà được thiết kế đối xứng với nhau bởi sảnh và cầu thang cắt ngang khu trung tâm.
Khu sảnh được thiết kế lõm vào trong, nhìn từ bên ngoài, tạo cảm giác các phần của ngôi nhà là những mảnh ghép riêng biệt.
Ở tầng trệt, khu phía Đông có 1 nhà bếp, phòng khách và phòng ăn.
Còn tại phía Tây, có 1 phòng ngủ. Tổng cộng tại tầng trệt có đến 4 phòng ngủ và nhà vệ sinh.
Phần lõm vào và chia tách ngôi nhà được sử dụng kính để giúp ánh sáng tự nhiên có thể chiếu vào bên trong căn nhà.
Ở phía Đông, một bức tường được xây dựng để lưu giữ các đồ trang trí, sách và các tác phẩm nghệ thuật của gia đình.
Tầng lửng mang đến một không gian yên tĩnh để các thành viên trong gia đình có thể tĩnh tâm, nhìn ngắm quang cảnh xung quanh.
