Từ kết quả không như mong đợi ở sân chơi Olympia 12 năm trước, Võ Duy Khánh nỗ lực thay đổi bản thân theo hướng tích cực và đạt được thành công nhất định ở tuổi 29.
Năm 2008, Võ Duy Khánh đại diện THPT Cờ Đỏ (Nghệ An) tham dự cuộc thi tuần Đường lên đỉnh Olympia và dừng chân ở vị trí thứ ba. Khi ấy, thành tích không như mong đợi khiến anh buồn bã, thất vọng.
Không để thất bại tuổi trẻ hạ gục mình, Khánh biến đó thành nghị lực để cố gắng hơn trong học tập. Hơn 10 năm kể từ khi rời sân chơi Olympia, chàng trai 29 tuổi đã gặt hái được thành công nhất định trong sự nghiệp.
Khánh hiện là Trưởng phòng An ninh di động, Trung tâm nghiên cứu Mã độc của Bkav.
Thí sinh Olympia năm thứ 9 cũng là người viết dòng code đầu tiên cho Bluezone – ứng dụng hỗ trợ phát hiện truy vết nhanh những người có nguy cơ lây nhiễm virus SARS-CoV-2.

Thức 48 tiếng để tạo ra Bluezone
Sau thời điểm Bệnh viện Bạch Mai (Hà Nội) trở thành ổ dịch, nhóm của Võ Duy Khánh được giao nhiệm vụ tìm hiểu công nghệ và tạo ra ứng dụng có chức năng truy vết người mắc Covid-19.
Với tâm thế của các “chiến sĩ” đang tham gia cuộc chiến chống dịch, hai nhóm core và app làm việc liên tục trong 48 tiếng để cho ra ứng dụng demo đầu tiên. Công nghệ được sử dụng là Bluetooth Low Energy (công nghệ tiết kiệm năng lượng của Bluetooth).
Sau khi giải quyết một số khó khăn liên quan tới việc sử dụng công nghệ lõi phù hợp, cũng như tính tương thích giữa 2 nền tảng Android và iOS khi chạy app, nhóm của Khánh chính thức cho ra mắt Bluezone.
Tuy nhiên, ban đầu, ứng dụng vấp phải ý kiến trái chiều về việc ảnh hưởng tới quyền riêng tư của người dùng. Trước tình huống đó, nhóm phát triển quyết định dùng mã nguồn mở để mọi người có thể đóng góp ý kiến cho đội ngũ sản xuất, đồng thời minh bạch về quyền riêng tư của người dùng.

Trong quá trình tạo ra ứng dụng Bluezone, Khánh có kỷ niệm vui liên quan tới Olympia.
Anh kể một hôm, khoảng 5-6h sáng, mọi người dù rất mệt vẫn hào hứng tranh luận về vấn đề giải thuật làm sao để xử lý ứng dụng một cách tiết kiệm pin. Lúc đang suy tư, ông Nguyễn Tử Quảng – CEO Bkav – nói: “Vấn đề này mấy bạn thí sinh Olympia giải nhanh lắm đây!”. Khánh liền tiết lộ mình là cựu thí sinh Olympia khiến cả phòng có dịp cười ồ lên.
“Đó là khoảnh khắc mình thấy cũng tự hào. Vì Olympia không còn nằm trong khuôn khổ một cuộc thi nữa, mà đã ăn sâu vào tiềm thức nhiều người Việt từ 20 năm nay rồi”, chàng trai nói.
Bên cạnh việc góp phần tạo ra ứng dụng Bluezone, Khánh tự hào khi nằm trong nhóm phát triển phần bảo mật cho điện thoại Bphone.
Tham gia Olympia là may mắn to lớn
Võ Duy Khánh cho hay việc tham gia Đường lên đỉnh Olympia cách đây 12 năm là niềm may mắn, đã thay đổi và giúp anh trưởng thành hơn rất nhiều trong cuộc sống.
Sau khi dừng chân ở cuộc thi tuần Olympia, Khánh từng cảm thấy khó khăn khi phải chấp nhận thất bại. Tuy nhiên, anh nhanh chóng biến đó thành nghị lực, chú tâm hơn vào học tập, phát huy thế mạnh để đạt kết quả cao trong năm cuối cấp.

Khánh đạt danh hiệu học sinh xuất sắc, đồng thời đoạt 3 giải khuyến khích học sinh giỏi môn Toán, Hóa, Tin cấp tỉnh. Tại kỳ thi đại học, chàng trai đỗ hai trường top thời điểm đó là ĐH Bách khoa Hà Nội và ĐH Y Hà Nội.
Anh lựa chọn theo học Viện Công nghệ Thông tin và Truyền thông, ĐH Bách khoa Hà Nội và bắt đầu thực tập ở Bkav từ năm 2.
“Có rất nhiều cựu thí sinh Olympia khác giỏi hơn, lan tỏa hơn và đóng góp hơn mình rất nhiều. Cho dù ở bất cứ đâu, họ đều xứng đáng được nhắc tên”, Khánh khẳng định.
Anh nói thêm: “Làm trong lĩnh vực công nghệ nhiều khi như chiến binh thầm lặng. Có nhiều người xuất sắc ngoài kia nhưng không phải ai cũng được biết tới. Mình rất may mắn và tự hào khi là thành viên trong nhóm phát triển Bluezone, có thể góp một chút công sức trong công cuộc đẩy lùi dịch bệnh. Mình cũng rất vui khi góp sức lan tỏa cho cộng đồng Olympian”.
Nhìn lại hành trình 12 năm qua, Khánh nói thất bại ở Olympia đã khiến anh thay đổi rất nhiều, đặc biệt trong suy nghĩ.
Chàng trai từng nghĩ sẽ làm công nghệ thật tốt để kiếm bộn tiền, mua nhà, tậu xe… như suy nghĩ chung của nhiều người. Thế nhưng, không ít biến cố xảy ra khiến anh suy nghĩ về nhiều điều hơn.

Một người anh em từng nói với Khánh: “Đừng chết mà bị lãng quên”. Với chàng trai, điều đó có thể là cuộc sống anh đang theo đuổi.
“Mình không mong gì cao sang, chỉ hy vọng những giá trị cuộc sống, giá trị về tinh thần sẽ giúp ích được cho nhiều người”, anh nói.
Vốn thích quay phim, chụp ảnh và du lịch, Khánh nói anh muốn đi thật nhiều, ghi lại cảnh đẹp để cho ít nhất là mẹ và người thân có thể xem trên điện thoại, hơn nữa là những người không có nhiều cơ hội được đi xa.
“Và nếu may mắn, mình hy vọng sản phẩm của mình sẽ phần nào đó giúp cho thế giới biết nhiều hơn về Việt Nam”, cựu thí sinh Olympia bày tỏ.
