Những năm 1930-1931, chính quyền Xô viết ở 130 làng xã ra đời tại huyện Can Lộc (Hà Tĩnh). Đây là lần đầu tiên trong lịch sử Việt Nam xuất hiện mô hình chính quyền cách mạng của nhân dân lao động. 90 năm sau, ở chính mảnh đất Can Lộc này, người lao động tiếp tục khẳng định vai trò tiên phong trong chuyển đổi ruộng đất, xây dựng nông thôn mới, phát triển du lịch văn hóa.
Mô hình kinh tế dưa lưới nhà màng đem lại hiệu quả kinh tế cao cho nông dân Can Lộc.
Điển hình trong sự đổi thay của Can Lộc có lẽ phải kể đến vùng Trà Sơn (vùng thượng Can Lộc). Nhìn những mô hình kinh tế hiệu quả nơi đây, khó có thể hình dung mảnh đất này đã từng một thời là “chảo lửa, túi bom”. Để có được sự đổi thay đó, những người nông dân cần cù vùng thượng Can Lộc đã dám nghĩ và đi những bước táo bạo với tư duy làm nông nghiệp hiện đại.
Cánh đồng Nương Cộ của xã Thượng Lộc từ nhiều năm nay đất hoang hóa, bạc màu, sản xuất lúa cho năng suất kém. Được đối tác hỗ trợ chuyển giao công nghệ, vợ chồng anh Võ Thúc Đồng (thôn Bình Sơn, xã Thượng Lộc) đã đầu tư 850 triệu đồng xây dựng tại đây hai nhà màng với tổng diện tích 1.500 m2. Bằng quy trình chăm sóc nghiêm ngặt, an toàn với hệ thống tưới nước nhỏ giọt, 2 lứa dưa đầu tiên đã cho thu hoạch hơn 7.000 quả. Với giá bán mỗi quả dưa từ 80.000 đồng đến 120.000 đồng, trong nửa năm gia đình anh Đồng đã thu về được hơn 700 triệu đồng.
Nhận thấy hiệu quả của mô hình trồng dưa lưới nhà màng, anh Võ Thúc Đồng còn đầu tư thêm một nhà màng ở xã Trường Lộc (huyện Can Lộc) và một nhà màng ở thành phố Hà Tĩnh, với tổng diện tích 3 mô hình là 5.000m2.
Ông Nguyễn Xuân Diệu, Chủ tịch UBND xã Thượng Lộc (huyện Can Lộc, Hà Tĩnh) cho biết: Xã Thượng Lộc hiện có 430 mô hình trồng cây ăn quả và chăn nuôi cho hiệu quả kinh tế cao. Cuộc sống của người dân Thượng Lộc giờ đây đã bước sang trang mới với thu nhập bình quân đầu người đạt 75 triệu đồng/năm, sản lượng lương thực đạt trên 5.500 tấn, giá trị thu nhập trên đơn vị diện tích đạt trên 165 triệu đồng/ha.
Nhờ biết khơi dậy truyền thống, đặc biệt là bài học tập hợp lực lượng, dựa vào sức mạnh của quần chúng nhân dân, ngày 17/10/2019, huyện Can Lộc đã được Thủ tướng Chính phủ ra quyết định công nhận huyện đạt chuẩn nông thôn mới, về đích trước một năm so mục tiêu Nghị quyết Đại hội Đảng bộ huyện đề ra.
Ông Nguyễn Như Dũng, Bí thư Huyện ủy Can Lộc cho hay: Ngay sau khi hoàn thành Đại hội Đảng bộ huyện khóa 36, Ban Thường vụ Huyện ủy Can Lộc bắt tay vào thực hiện khâu đột phá bằng việc ban hành Nghị quyết 01 về tập trung lãnh đạo, chỉ đạo thực hiện Đề án tập trung ruộng đất, hình thành vùng sản xuất quy mô lớn, tăng cường liên kết để nâng cao hiệu quả, giá trị trong sản xuất nông nghiệp, giai đoạn 2020 – 2025.
Đến nay, ngoài 9.000ha trồng lúa hằng năm, Can Lộc có hơn 800ha (diện tích cam 550ha, bưởi 250ha), giá trị đạt 300 triệu đồng/ha; các mô hình sản xuất theo hướng VietGAP, hữu cơ, ứng dụng tưới nhỏ giọt đang tăng nhanh, thương hiệu cam Thượng Lộc đã được xây dựng thành công và ngày càng khẳng định chất lượng và có chỗ đứng trên thị trường là hướng phát triển chủ lực của vùng.
Hiện nay, trên địa bàn huyện có 893 mô hình sản xuất doanh thu từ 100 triệu đồng trở lên; trong đó, 60 mô hình quy mô lớn cho doanh thu hơn một tỷ đồng/năm, 107 mô hình quy mô vừa cho doanh thu từ 500 triệu đến dưới một tỷ đồng và 722 mô hình quy mô nhỏ cho doanh thu từ 100 – 500 triệu đồng, đem lại nguồn thu nhập tương đối ổn định cho bà con nhân dân…
