Tính riêng đá nhân tạo gốc thạch anh, quy mô thị trường ước tính lên đến 206 triệu m2 trong 3 năm tới và chạm mốc 250 triệu m2 năm 2023. Trong đó Châu Âu, Mỹ, Úc… là những thị trường tiêu thụ đá ốp lát hàng đầu thế giới.

Tại Việt Nam, theo quyết định phê duyệt quy hoạch phát triển vật liệu gốm, sứ xây dựng và đá ốp lát đến năm 2020 của Bộ Xây Dựng, nhu cầu đá ốp lát tự nhiên được dự báo đạt 30 triệu m2, trong đó khoảng 7 triệu m2 dành cho mục đích xuất khẩu. Đá ốp lát trở thành thị trường tiềm năng với độ tăng trưởng lạc quan, song hành cùng sự phát triển của các công trình xây dựng đang trong giai đoạn bùng nổ cả về số lượng và chất lượng.
Bên cạnh đó, hai xu hướng đáng chú ý tại Việt Nam hiện nay là sự chuyển dịch nhu cầu từ gạch men sang đá ốp lát và từ đá tự nhiên sang đá nhân tạo, đặc biệt loại đá có gốc thạch anh ở nhiều hạng mục nội thất. Đá nhân tạo gốc thạch anh được đánh giá có đặc tính cơ lý vượt trội, độ bền cao, không thấm nước và dễ dàng chế tác. Loại đá này cũng khác biệt với đá tự nhiên bởi độ đồng đều cao về màu sắc, hoa văn giữa các tấm đá, hoàn toàn phù hợp với các công trình thương mại như khách sạn, khu nghỉ dưỡng, biệt thự, khu đô thị, chung cư cao cấp… Dự báo đến năm 2020, nhu cầu về đá nhân tạo gốc thạch anh tại Việt Nam sẽ khoảng 5 triệu m2.

Theo nhận định của ông Đặng Việt Lê – Chủ tịch HĐQT Khang Minh, “những con số trên đã cho thấy bức tranh của thị trường đá đầy tiềm năng, là cơ hội dành cho các doanh nghiệp. Tuy nhiên, đi kèm với đó là thách thức không hề nhỏ về nguồn vốn, tầm nhìn chiến lược, khả năng quản trị, hệ thống phân phối… Đặc biệt, muốn có chỗ đứng trên thị trường, nhất định phải tìm ra “đại dương xanh” – điểm khác biệt của riêng mình”.
