Tốt nghiệp đại học chuyên ngành xây dựng nhưng anh Tô Vũ Thành Tín (30 tuổi, ở xã Ân Tín, huyện Hoài Ân, Bình Định) có quyết định táo bạo khi bỏ việc ở phố về quê nuôi chim trĩ, gặt hái thành công.
Cử nhân bỏ việc về quê nuôi chim trĩ, thành công ngoài mong đợi
Tuy không phải là người đầu tiên đưa mô hình nuôi chim trĩ thương phẩm về địa phương, nhưng anh Tín được đánh giá rất thành công với mô hình trên. Từ đó, mở ra hướng chăn nuôi mang lại hiệu quả kinh tế cao không chỉ riêng gia đình anh mà cả người dân địa phương.
Quyết định thay đổi cuộc đời
Theo anh Tín kể, năm 2013, sau khi tốt nghiệp Trường Đại học Quy Nhơn chuyên ngành xây dựng, anh cầm tấm bằng đại học vào TP.HCM xin việc. Trong 1 năm bươn chải, nhiều lần anh đi công trình ở Củ Chi, Bình Dương… rồi tình cờ biết đến mô hình nuôi chim trĩ. Thấy con chim trĩ lạ, lại tương đối dễ nuôi nên Tín bắt đầu thích và lân la tìm hiểu.
Qua tìm hiểu, thấy nhiều người thành công với mô hình nuôi chim trĩ ở nhiều địa phương, Tín quyết tìm hiểu kỹ hơn về loài chim hoang dã này để chọn nghề khởi nghiệp.
“Cơ duyên bắt đầu từ đó nhưng gia đình vẫn là số 1. Tôi nghĩ cha mẹ ở quê cũng lớn tuổi lại hay đau yếu nên mới quyết định bỏ việc về quê nuôi chim trĩ và có thời gian chăm sóc cha mẹ” – Tín chia sẻ.
Tháng 8/2014, khi nắm một số kỹ thuật chăm sóc, phòng và trị bệnh cho chim trĩ, Tín về quê bàn với cha mẹ và vay người thân 70 triệu đồng để xây dựng chuồng trại trên diện tích khoảng 500m2. Sau đó, Tín vào lại TP.HCM mua 50 đôi chim trĩ trống – mái và 62 con chim mái trưởng thành về nuôi.
Anh Tín cũng đang nuôi 10 con chim công lớn, nhỏ.
“Ban đầu đi tìm hiểu thực tế, ai cũng nói dễ nuôi nhưng khi tiếp cận và nuôi thì gặp nhiều khó khăn. Khó khăn nhất là thời tiết lạnh, nhưng nếu khắc phục được thì mọi việc đơn giản hơn rất nhiều. Tháng 11/2014, tưởng chừng phải bỏ nghề, vì đúng lúc chim trĩ đang thay lông gặp thời tiết lạnh. Tôi làm đủ cách, trong điện sưởi ấm nhưng vẫn không ổn. Qua tìm hiểu trên mạng về các loài chim sinh tồn trong mùa lạnh, sau đó tôi chặt các tàu dừa làm ụ, dùng lá chuối khô lót nền làm ổ, vậy mà đàn trĩ vượt qua đợt lạnh” – anh Tín kể lại.
Theo anh Tín, ưu điểm của chim trĩ là giống hoang dã nên rất ít dịch bệnh. Đặc biệt, thức ăn của chim cũng rất đơn giản giống như thức ăn gà ta gồm những thứ sẵn có ở quê như bắp, rau xanh, lúa và cám công nghiệp nên công việc nuôi không quá vất vả.
Phát triển thêm nhiều dòng chim, gà cảnh
Sau 7 năm, từ 162 con chim giống, hiện đàn chim trĩ của anh Tín đã tăng lên hơn 1.000 con, trong đó 500 chim sinh sản, gần 200 chim trống, còn lại là trĩ bán thịt.
Theo anh Tín, khoảng 4 tháng thì xuất chuồng 1 lứa, con trống nặng khoảng 1,5kg, con mái nặng 1 – 1,3kg, bán cho thương lái trong và ngoài tỉnh với giá 180.000 đồng/kg. Còn bán giống, chim trĩ 1 ngày tuổi anh Tín với bán giá 20.000-25.000 đồng/con, chim 2 tháng tuổi 120.000 đồng/con, chim hậu bị khoảng 4-5 tháng bán 300.000-320.000 đồng/con và chim sinh sản 700.000 – 750.000 đồng/cặp.
Không chỉ nuôi chim trĩ bán thịt, anh Tín còn nhân rộng mô hình với nhiều loại chim, gà cảnh như chim công, chim trĩ 7 màu, gà vảy cá, gà Brahma (xuất xứ châu Âu), gà Onagadori (Nhật Bản), gà lôi… bán cảnh với giá trị cao. Nhờ đó, doanh thu mỗi năm hàng tỷ đồng.
“Tiền lãi bao nhiêu tôi đầu tư hết vào nuôi các giống chim, gà cảnh mới để phong phú nguồn hàng, cung ứng thị trường trong thời gian tới. Hiện đầu ra chim trĩ thịt và chim trĩ giống đều khá ổn định. Trước đây, tôi phải tự đi liên hệ với khách hàng để bán, còn giờ khách hàng đã tìm đến mình để mua, nhiều lúc không có hàng để bán” – anh Tín cho hay.
Nhiều năm có kinh nghiệm với nuôi chim trĩ, anh Tín chia sẻ: “Cái gì mới bắt đầu đều khó cả nhưng quan trọng mình dám nghĩ, dám làm. Theo tôi, nuôi chim trĩ cũng không quá phức tạp, chuồng trại phải thoáng mát, chuồng được bao bọc lưới bảo vệ và đảm bảo không gian đủ rộng để chim bay nhảy. Tuy nhiên, người nuôi cần chú ý với chim non dưới 1 tháng tuổi phải chăm sóc kỹ, còn chim đẻ phải ăn đủ chất, đúng thời gian thì tỷ lệ đẻ trứng cao. Chăm sóc tốt, chim mẹ có thể đẻ vài chục trứng trong một chu kỳ đẻ trứng khoảng 3-4 tháng”.
Đặc biệt, để tự nhân giống đàn chim, anh Tín đã mua 2 máy ấp trứng công nghiệp, một máy ấp 500 trứng với giá hơn 6 triệu và một máy ấp 1.000 trứng giá 9 triệu đồng. Thế nhưng, tỷ lệ trứng nở quá thấp, chỉ đạt 50%, thậm chí có đợt trứng ấp hỏng toàn bộ.
Mày mò, anh Tín tự tháo tung cái máy ấp trứng đó để tìm nguyên nhân. Anh Tín cho biết, máy này dùng rơ-le nhiệt, khi nhiệt độ xuống dưới 37 độ C sẽ tự động bật, đến gần 38 độ C sẽ tự động tắt, trong khi nhiệt độ để ấp trứng chim trĩ cần giữ ở mức ổn định 37,5 độ C.
Sau đó, ròng rã nhiều tháng trời, anh Tín tự chế ra chiếc máy ấp trứng khác, hình thức cũng tương tự máy ấp trứng công nghiệp, chỉ khác là anh dùng vỏ gỗ. Đặc biệt là thay thế rơ-le nhiệt bằng công nghệ điều áp 3D, cung cấp nguồn nhiệt ổn định, giúp tỉ lệ trứng ấp nở cao, từ 85 – 90%.
Ông Võ Duy Tín – Phó Trưởng Phòng Nông nghiệp và Phát triển nông thông huyện Hoài Ân, đánh giá: “Mô hình nuôi chim trĩ và các loại chim, gà cảnh của anh Tín cho thu nhập cao hơn nhiều so với các mô hình chăn nuôi khác ở địa phương hiện nay. Ngoài việc làm giàu cho gia đình, anh Tín còn sẵn sàng giúp đỡ và chuyển giao kỹ thuật, bán con giống với giá rẻ hơn thị trường cho những người có nhu cầu chăn nuôi theo mô hình này để phát triển kinh tế gia đình”.
