“Tôi không dám trả lời ai cả vì sợ nói trước bước không qua”, ông Nguyễn Quốc Kỳ, TGĐ Vietravel bộc bạch nguyên nhân không nhận phỏng vấn của báo chí về việc thành lập hãng hàng không Vietravel Airlines tại Hội thảo “Doanh nghiệp Việt ra biển lớn” do Báo Thanh Niên tổ chức.
Theo ông Kỳ, năm 2018, khi sang Trung Quốc làm việc với một hãng du lịch lớn ở Thượng Hải, họ có mời ông sử dụng máy bay của họ. Điều này đã khiến ông rất bất ngờ vì một hãng du lịch lại có máy bay riêng. Và họ cũng không chỉ có một vài chiếc mà tận 137 máy bay. Trong khi đó, Vietnam Airlines chỉ có 80 chiếc.
Một điều khác khiến ông suy nghĩ là với lệnh cấm sử dụng báy bay Boeing 737 Max khiến TUI – hãng hàng không số 1 châu Âu phải dừng sử dụng 30% tàu bay trên tổng số hơn 200 chiếc.
“Các hãng du lịch lớn đang hoàn thiện hệ sinh thái của họ. Du lịch thì một nửa của nó là Du – tức di chuyển, chiếm 50%. Việt Nam cũng ở trong tầm đó thôi”, ông Kỳ nói.
“Một hãng du lịch nước ngoài mà có tận 137 chiếc máy bay, nếu họ vào Việt Nam, thì điều gì sẽ xảy ra? Chúng ta cần giải quyết cấu trúc bên trong để doanh nghiệp tự đứng vững. Không còn cách nào khác cả. Chúng tôi phải hoàn thiện hệ sinh thái của mình để bước ra với thế giới”, ông giải thích thêm.
Ông Nguyễn Quốc Kỳ trước đó cũng có một phần chia sẻ dài về thị trường du lịch Việt Nam. Theo ông, tốc độ tăng trưởng của ngành đang khá tốt. Tuy nhiên, ông cũng chỉ ra thực trạng là xúc tiến của ngành vẫn còn nhiều hạn chế, manh mún và yếu kém. Hoạt động này chủ yếu do các hãng du lịch nước ngoài làm khi họ muốn mở rộng thị trường tại Việt Nam.
“Việc xúc tiến có cố gắng nhưng chưa tốt”, ông nói. Cú huých lớn nhất cho đến nay là việc Chính phủ sử dụng thị thực điện tử và bỏ visa cho một số nước nhưng về tổng thể vẫn chưa như mong đợi. Như vậy, ông Kỳ cho rằng cần phải xác định lại được thị trường và có những tính toán đột phá hơn.
Mặt khác, sản phẩm du lịch trong nước vẫn còn đơn điệu, nghèo nàn. “Từ Bắc chí Nam, sản phẩm của chúng ta hình que, đi một lần là biết hết. Việt Nam không có sản phẩm vùng, kết nối vùng. Khách đi 15 ngày 13 đêm thì không cần quay lại nữa”, ông khẳng định.
Sản phẩm du lịch của Việt Nam, theo ông Kỳ, chủ yếu tập trung từ 7h sáng đến 5h chiều. Trong khi đó, sản phẩm thu được nhiều tiền nhất là từ 6h tối đến 2h sáng thì không được phát triển. “Chúng ta có nhiều khu resort đẹp, nhưng để làm gì khi cứ đến tối là khách phải ôm nhau ngủ, không biết đi đâu!”, TGĐ Vietravel nhấn mạnh.
Theo ông, du lịch của Việt Nam là “du lịch lòng máng”, trơn trượt, không tạo được sự thẩm thấu vào nền kinh tế địa phương. Do vậy, ông Nguyễn Quốc Kỳ cho rằng những người làm trong ngành này cần phải thay đổi tư duy, nhận thức.
